EXPERT MOULD assessments
Mould can pose significant health risks and damage property.
At EVENAIR our Mould Assessment services are the essential first step in an effective mould remediation process. If you do not identify the root causes, mould will keep coming back. Our certified inspectors are well equipped to uncover the issues that are allowing mould to grow. They can also include optional air and surface testing. Samples are useful where the mould is either not visible or you require more detailed information on the types of moulds present.
MOULD ASSESSEMENT PROCESS
Our meticulous approach to mould assessment involves a systematic inspection of your property, typically taking 1-2 hours. EVENAIR highly trained inspectors prioritize your specific concerns, scrutinize all areas susceptible to mould growth, and use specialized equipment to document moisture and humidity data.
At EVENAIR, we stand apart by prioritizing ethical standards in the mould remediation industry. Unlike some unscrupulous providers who offer “free” mould assessments designed solely to secure mould cleaning jobs, we take a different approach. We believe in providing our clients with long-term solutions. Following the assessment, you’ll receive a detailed report encompassing our assessment methodology, results, photographic evidence, laboratory analysis, and actionable recommendations to address any identified issues.
We understand that mould issues can be a serious concern for your health and home. That’s why we are committed to transparency and integrity in our assessments. Our primary goal is to help you achieve a healthy and safe environment, and that begins with a thorough, honest assessment of your property.
ACCREDITED SERVICES FOR MOULD ASSESSMENT
IMMEDIATE ACTION, LONG TERM SOLUTIONS
Mould growth is accelerated by prolonged humidity, damp environments, and water incursions. Under these conditions mould will invade a buildings, and release spores into the air. Mould growth can be prevented by an active program of inspection of buildings for moisture problems, followed by corrective action and remediation if necessary. An EVENAIR mould assessment will identify building problems and environmental issues that permit the growth of mould spores. EVENAIR can assess the degree of contamination and collect samples to identify mould type, and possible toxicity. EVENAIR will then recommend corrective actions required to fix building issues, and can advise on cleaning and removal of existing mould growth.
Why does mould grow indoors?
Increased dampness – the presence of excessive moisture – encourages mould growth.
Both dampness and mould are affected by:
• the indoor and outdoor environment (temperature, humidity)
• building characteristics (ventilation, dwelling construction type, building materials, quality of build)
• occupants’ behaviour (whether people use an extractor fan while cooking or bathing).
The following issues can lead to mould contamination:
- Humid weather
- Water leaks
- Flooding
- Condensation
- Poor ventilation
- Sub-floor moisture
- Bathing and cooking without adequate ventilation
- Use of clothes dryers and unflued gas heaters without adequate ventilation
- Storing large amounts of water absorbent materials in a damp space
MOULD AND YOUR HEALTH
An EVENAIR mould assessment and identification report is your comprehensive guide to understanding your indoor air. Mould contamination can lead to a range of health problems, including:
- Headaches
- Asthma
- Allergic reactions
- Breathing difficulties
Many individuals do not react badly to mould irritation, whereas others may be extremely sensitive and could suffer serious medical consequences from breathing mould spores.

WHAT IS MOULD?
Moulds are a large and diverse group of fungal species which occur naturally throughout our environment. Spores can enter buildings through general air flow, and sometimes are already present in building materials and surfaces. Spores can even be inadvertently carried in on soles of shoes. Mould spores can remain dormant for years, only to suddenly thrive and reproduce in humid or damp conditions. ‘Black mould’ is a term that is frequently used to refer to toxic mould. However, toxic mould can come in many different colours, and mould that is black is not always toxic.
Visible mould may be an indication of extensive contamination, but mould that is not visible can also be flourishing in unventilated areas.
MOULD: A WORKPLACE HEALTH HAZARD
Mould in the workplace can seriously impact business productivity and profitability. If a contamination is not addressed promptly and professionally, it can affect the health of employees. Safe Work Australia emphasised the the “primary duty of care” that employers have to their employees. Our services can help to protect your employees and mitigate liability concerns.

MOULD SERVICES - STEP BY STEP
Step 1: Initial call to listen to client’s concerns, document essential information, explain how our process will meet client’s expectations.
Step 2: Quote for services is provided to client by email.
Step 3: After acceptance of the quote the assessment appointment is scheduled.
Step 4: During the assessment our technician will conduct an onsite interview to learn more detail about the issues. They will use specialised equipment to identify problem areas. The technician will document relevant property dimensions, orientation, as well as measuring indoor and outdoor temperature/humidity levels. Moisture penetration problems are identified and air and surface samples are collected if required.
Step 5: A Mould Assessment Report is provided to the client. The report will include recommendations for further actions based on the findings identified during the assessment.
Step 6: Recommendations may include contracting specialized services to resolve identified building issues (roofing, plumbing, waterproofing etc).
Step 7: EVENAIR does not perform cleaning and mould removal but can provide supervision and monitoring during this process.
Depending on the severity of the situation a mould remediation service may include the following steps:
- Management of moisture source within affected space
- Workplace isolation with poly barriers and directed air filtration
- Treatment of the affected areas by appropriate means (washing, manual cleaning, use of anti-microbial substances)
- Removal of the structures/objects where cleaning or repair is not possible
- Sterilisation of the air (fogging) to kill airborne spores. Note: This is rarely recommended as it can introduce unwanted moisture into the air
- Drying of damp areas
- Installation of a ventilation system
Step 8: Post-remediation testing and final reporting.
